Drawing from a source material of personal sensory memories and emotions, Siri Margaret Stensberg offers her visual language of color, lyricism, and rhythm to the surfaces of found paintings. She uses experimental additive and 'subtractive' marks such as various paint applications, scraping, sanding, and cutting. The layered surface of each work is a chronological record of her interactions along with a revealing of the found object's personal history. Siri hails from Eau Claire, Wisconsin where she received double degrees in art and music. She is an MFA candidate at Washington State University.
